United 93

5 days ago I saw a very good movie related to my topic called United 93. This movie is about the 4rth airplane kidnapped in September 11, 2001. Here is my summary of the movie.
One regular morning 4 terrorists went to an airport in New Jersey with to head San Francisco. The terrorists went trough all the police and the other airport officials without difficulties and went inside the airplaine with destination San Francisco.

All of the hijackers were sat on first class and were very nervous and because of that the terrorist acted in a very strange way. The flight was going to last about 5 hours and by the time that the passengers were eating the lunch the hijackers took control of the air plains with knifes. They killed a first class passenger and made a flight attended open the door of the pilots when the pilots opened the door of the cabin the hijackers appeared and killed both the pilot and the sub-pilot. 2 of the hijackers were pilots so they were the ones who drove the plane. All of the hijackers were praying all the time because the kidnapping of the airplane was because of religion. When there was 20 minutes left for the airplane to hit their target the White House. The passengers decided to retake control of the airplane because somewhat they were going to die.

Before they retake control everyone talked with the persons they loved and after that they took anything in which they could kill the hijackers and went to battle them they started killing the 2 hijackers that were outside the cabin. When they killed the 2 hijackers they took a wheel car in which they carried the food and start hitting the cabin door. When the door finally gave up and broke. The passengers got inside the pilot cabin and start fighting with the 2 hijackers that were left. Finally the airplane crashed into and open field near Washington D.C and nobody that was inside the airplane survived.
This is the page were made my research of what really happened on one of the hijacked airplanes of September/11/06 . Here is the first paragraph from this page:

"United Airlines Flight 93 was a regular flight from Newark International Airport (now known as Newark Liberty International Airport) in Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco International Airport, then continuing on to Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, on a different aircraft. On September 11, 2001, the United Airlines Boeing 757-222, registered N591UA, was one of four planes hijacked as part of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It was the only one of the four planes that did not reach its intended target, instead crashing in an empty field just outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania, about 150 miles (240 km) northwest of Washington, D.C. The 9/11 Commission (through testimony, tapes of passengers' phone calls, and the flight data recorders recovered from the crash) determined that crew and passengers, alerted through phone calls to loved ones, had attempted to overtake the hijackers. The Commission concluded that the hijackers crashed the plane to keep the crew and passengers from gaining control. The Commission's official report states that passengers and crew members fought back against the hijackers."

As you can read this is the introduction of the web-page for the 4rth kidnapped airplane. Now I am going to tell you the summary from the whole page.

The United Airlines flight 93 was a normal flight. It was a Boeing 757-222 with 37 persons inside the plain (counting the hijackers) going from New Jersey to San Francisco. But when they were at the middle of the Flight it was hijacked by four men from Al-qaeda named Ziad Jarrah (Lebanese), pilot; Ahmed al-Haznawi (Saudi Arabian), Ahmed al-Nami (Saudi Arabian), Saeed al-Ghamdi (Saudi Arabian). All of the terrorists were seated on first class and 2 of them with knife, as in the movie United 93.
After time passed the hijackers took controll of the airplane, and then the passangers realizing that they were going to dies they took a very good decision which was to retake control from the terrorists. But before every person made phone calls to their families and best friends in which thy talked about the hijackers and said that they loved them. When everyone finished making the phone calls the start to retake control of the airplane. They ended up killing two of the hijackers and crashing the airplane to an open field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

In conclusion comparing the movie United 93 from what really happened the movie had many true facts about the airplane, the hijackers, and the rebel of the passengers. If you have the opportunnity to see the movie United 93 see it I promise you wont be disapointed and you will understand better this post.

On my next post I will like to write about Sadam Husein. And this is the end of my post I hope you enjoy reading it!

Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda

Today I was researching for Osama Bin Laden and Alqua-eda when I found 2 very good posts about this topic at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osama_bin_Laden and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Qaeda. this is a very good web-page because it has lots of facts and very good information about the topic that I am interested in The Teen Life Project.

Here is my conclusion from what I read. Alquaeda is the name given to an international alliance of militant Islamist organizations established in 1988 by Osama Bin Laden which is the founder of this organization.

Osama Bin Laden or Usama bin Laden was born at March, 10, 1957 in Saudi Arabia. Ossama's parents divorced very soon when he was born. Osama stayed with her mom, after some time Osama Bin Laden's mom maried again and Osama ended up living whith 3 step brothers and one stepsister. Right now Osama has maried many times and has from 12 to 24 children. Osama Bin Laden is tall and thin, being 193 cm to 195 cm tall and weighing about 75 kg usually wearing a white turban. He is The FBI Teen most wanted fugitive and is responsible for terrorism attacks like the ones of the 9/11. and more attacks to other countries.

Attacks of 9/11:
like in this web-page said at the Morning of September, 11 , 2001 4 air plains were controlled by 19 terrorists from Al-Quaeda (Ziad Jarrah,Ahmed al-Nami, Saeed al-Ghamdi, Ahmed al-Haznawi, Hani Hanjour,Khalid al-Mihdhar,Majed Moqed, Nawaf al-Hazmi, Salem al-Hazmi, Marwan al-Shehhi, Fayez Banihammad, Mohand al-Shehri, Hamza al-Ghamdi, Ahmed al-Ghamdi, Mohammed Atta, Satam al-Suqami, Waleed al-Shehri, Wail al-Shehri, and Abdulaziz al-Omari ). All of them exept one crashed to one part of The United States of America. One of them To the South Tween Tower in New York, Unite States, the second one to the North Tower which later resulted by making collapse both Tween Towers (North and South). The 3rd air plain crashed to the Pentagon in Arlington Country. The 4th airplane was going to crash the White House but fortunately the passengers of the airplane attempted to retake control of their plane from the hijackers which later ended up crashing into a field. All of these happened in only one day 9/11 and killing almost 3,000 people. The USA named Bin Laden and the Al-Qaeda organization as the prime suspects. They putted a reguard of $25 million plus $2 million of the airlines.

Others attacks of Alqua-eda include:
- Singapore embassies attack plot
-Istanbul Bombings
-Kenyan Hotel bombing in Mombassa
-Rizal day bombings in Philippines
-Limburg tanker bombings
-Foiled attacks on Western warships in the Strait of Gibraltar.
-Kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

Osama Bin Laden had been counted as dead many times. One time at April 2005 and another time at August 2006. But al of them are false statements. Unite States has a campaign, known as the War on Terrorism, with the goal of dismantling Al-Qaeda and killing or capturing its operatives. And these is the end of my 2 post of my Teen Life Proyect. I'll keep working on terrorism, kidnapping and it various effect on people next week with Juan David. I hope you have liked it. Please leave comments!

kidnaping at Colombia.

Hi, this time I am going to talk about Kidnapping at Colombia. When I decided my topic which is Kidnaping at Colombia I started researching at the internet and I found a very good article about Colombia 10 years ago. This article was called "COLOMBIA: THE WORLD LEADER IN KIDNAPPINGS" here are some sentences from this webpage:
"No country is as plagued more by kidnapping as Colombia, where an estimated one
in three of the world's abductions occur. Leftist Guerrillas, who control large
swaths of countryside, have made it a lucrative business. Ransom kidnapping by
guerrillas, blamed for half of Colombia's 10,000 reported cases since 1990, has
crippled some of the country's industries, forced highway projects to be
canceled in midconstruction, and has impoverished entire regions."

This is what Steve Macko said on the first parragraph of his article.
First of all kidnapping is the practice of stealing children for use as servants or laborers in the American colonies. Almost ten years ago Colombia was one of the Leaders of the most kidnappings in the whole world (which is very bad) but recently it is having a better reputation because each year the amount of kidnapping has decreased. Alvaro Uribe our current president has contributed for this great step forward. He has militarized the roads for preventing kidnapping and he had also putted a rule that on holydays people need to travel at groups so that they can take care of each other and make harder to the kidnappers to kidnap people.
Normally in Colombia the kidnappings occur when people has many money or are involucrate on the government, or politics. Kidnapers also like to kidnap for doing exchanges with the government. What I mean by exchanging is that the kidnappers release one captured person and the governments realize one captured kidnapper. The persons who kidnap are mostly guerrillas which are divided into two main groups the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the National Liberation Army (ELN). Other groups or persons who kidnap are para- militaries, common criminals, corrupt policemen, drug traffickers, and political rivals.

One example of political kidnapping is the one of Fernando Araugo. Presently he was found after 6 years of kidnapping. The 31 of December of 2006 some militaries troops went to the place were it was thought they had Fernando Araugo. When they confirmed his was there, they started shooting the place. Fernando Araugo, getting advantage of the shooting escaped from the kidnappers site and got into the jungle. At the jungle he stayed 5 days lost until the sixth day in which he found the way to a town in which he talked with some militaries. The militaries talked him to Cartagena (were he lived) to encounter again with his family. Now he is free!
In conclusion Colombia isn't as bad as you had seen in the movies and in the news. That if you cross the street they will kill you. The dangerous places are far away from the cities. Just be careful and travel if you can on airplanes and dont go to places were there are allot of guerrillas which are normally at small villages.

I hope you like this post please leave comments!

TLP Skype Call

On Monday, January 30, 2007 we were going to have the TLP Skype Call with one school of Canada and one school at Virginia. Because of some problems we could not have the TLP Skype Call on the school so we had to go to Mr. Hide’s class house which is near the school for the conversation. When we arrive to his house we got ready and we start the TLP Skype Call conversation with the other schools. We settled in the groups that we divided which were school environment, social environment, and the physical environment. We had a especial system of rotation that helped us to organize ourselves for the TLP Skype CallFirst of all we had the introduction of each school.

When each school finished saying their introduction we talked about the first topic which was school environment. The first school who talked about their school was the Canada school, and then followed by us and at last the Virginia school. Each school told about how their classes were. Each school also talked about their recess, how much time they were and what did the did normally. We also talked about the time that they have to arrive to school and the time that they return to their homes. We also talked about the uniforms something good about the Virginia school is that they don’t have to wear uniforms. We also talked about the after school sport classes, and the subjects that we have in each school.

Then we talked that each school have to have notes and then publish it at the TLP webpage. The Canada school wrote notes about the School environment, the Virginia school wrote notes about the physical, and we had to write notes about social environment.

The second topic we talked about was physical environment. The first one who talked was us the followed by Virginia school, and at last the Canada school. On these presentations each one talked about the global warming if it was affecting the places were we lived? We also talked about the water. Transportation and the crime rate of each place. We also talked about our community and what were the places that we liked to go on weekends, and the geographic features. We also talked about tourisms and it affect on the places, and traffic. The last thing we talked was the people and about the climate.

The last topic that we talked about was the social environment. This time the first school that started talking was the Canada school, the followed by us and at last the Virginia school. This time we talked about the things we made on weekends, and the best places to go in each part. The most common places each school went are movies, restaurants, and shopping.

When we finished talking each school said bye and we returned to our school; were we had a normal day!
